Davido Shares Full Story Behind His N1m Challenge
Davido has shared a new side to his N1m birthday challenge which had shaken all of social media. Read our story to find out what the OBO shared.
Nigerian singer, Davido spoke to Trevor Noah on American TV show, The Daily Show and shared full details that led to the famous N1m challenge he held on his 29th birthday which happened last year.
According to the singer, before he’d made the public call to action to his friends in the music industry, he’d been led to insist on being gifted for a change after finding out that members of his 30BG Gang were trying to get him a wristwatch he wanted for his birthday. Davido shared that the message of the watch had been mistakenly shared with him by his manager and it had strengthened his resolve to put himself first.
Davido also spoke on events leading to his decision to donate the money, sharing that he was already contemplating on donating the money and a call from his dad had solidified this thought. He further added that the vetting process for the orphanages had taken two months.
Davido is currently in the United States for his We Rise By Lifting Others Tour which started in Brooklyn on the 16th of June.
